Who's in this year? I'm in the Small Tract Competition again. Had some decent shooting this weekend. I have one Golden Fronted I'm pleased with and a usable but not jaw dropping rabbit. Not a bad start but how I wish there was water on the property. We need rain!!!!
Best of luck to those entered.

I wish I was in it but couldn't work in the time required. I wish you the best of luck in your shooting.
I think all of Texas is in serious need of rain I hope it comes soon.

Kevin,
I'm in, however, I will be on a limited basis as far as spending time in the field. Seven days so far with very little worth keeping. We have water but, so far, little has shown up. You would think that as dry as it is, the water holes would be loaded with wildlife, but that has not been the case, so far. I'm going back next week, probably thursday, for a week.

Bill,
Glad to hear your in again. I thought the shortened time and your baseball might keep you out.
The best to both of you I hope you keep us informed on your shooting and final outcome.

Hey Guys. Well, shooting has gone good for me in the bird department. I have some I'm very pleased with but hope to improve upon them before it's all done. I'd like some birds in flight so we'll see if I get lucky. Have two usable rabbits but nothing to get excited about. I saw my first javelina Friday morning and I screwed the pooch on that one. If I had absolutely nothing else, I could embarass myself with the javelina in hopes of some points but I sure hope I can delete that from the files. Other than that, at times it's been very demotivating on the ranch. It is seriously hurting for lack of water. I actually tried to find insects/spiders among the prickly pear last Saturday and found nothing. I found an area where I think whitetail are feeding. I think. We'll see how things progress. I'm limited with shooting time as well given family and school committments on top of work, but I manage to shoot at least one morning and one evening per week. If I get lucky, I get two afternoons. Will keep you posted. Glad you are still in Bill. Are you planning a visit to El Rocio on the 29th? If so, look me up as my wife and I will be attending that.

Well, we got about 3" of rain on the ranch yesterday. I was out for a few hours this afternoon. The pond is not full but has some water so I'm hoping to get some birds bathing, mammals drinking, and especially hoping for some frogs as my R&A category is hurting. At best, I have some point getters in R&A but I wouldn't keep these images if I wasn't in the contest. I have a few images that I think will compete well in the birds, mammals, and insects but I'm still hopeful of improving upon them. I expect everyone has some good competing images in the same categories so I'm not resting. Hope the rest of you are doing well.
