I found a tutorial on how to put the moon in this composite shot. Also wanted to play around with B & W. There was a fair bit of extraneous dark around the shot so I cropped it square-ish. The moon look too big here? I sort of used artistic license Techs are similar to the previous color shot except this was shot at f9 and 33mm.

This is cool, Pam. Honestly, I think I'd prefer it w/o the moon. It's got a ghostly vibe about it and I love the contrast between the church and black sky. The moon composite is well done, though.

I think it looks good with the moon but I think without would be just as nice :)
I like the moon, however the Church seems to be leaning to the left a bit. Also, the shadows on the Church from the foreground bush gives a big hint of light painting. All in all, a good start.

That's a cool shot, but the moon is cheesy IMO. But then I've always had a repulsion to pasted moons. Aside from that, it really does have a ghostly vibe like Bret said; the bushes enhance the feeling that this church has long been deserted.

OMG, this is amazing, Pam! If I had done this I probably would've made the moon smaller. I would've been wrong. Go big(ger) or go home. I missed your previous post but will seek it out.

First reaction, Wow! I like the BW treatment; and the lighting. Use your own judgement on the moon and stars; and their contribution to the image. Must have been spooky out there while you were setting up the shot.

That is an outstanding first effort at this! I also love the HUGE moon. You have an artistic license and you are not afraid to use it. Spooky, ghostly for sure.

I agree with the others--a spooky shot--but very cool!

You got that light painting thing down, that's for sure!
Having a crescent moon overhead is a great idea, but this one's a bit too large for my taste.
B&W looks terrific!

Very cool shot, Pam! I think I'm in the smaller moon camp. I also noticed the left lean, but maybe that ol' church really is leaning?

Glad to know this has merit as I'd like to print one of them up. Thanks for the critiques, sort of all over the place regarding the moon size but it seems to have appeal. Guess I'll toss a coin, Ha! Wasn't expecting the cheesey comment.

Absolutely wonderful comp, but I think I'd cut the size of the moon down about 30-50% to make it more believable.

Pam, I really like this photo. It definately has a surreal mood and I think the moon adds to that feel. I might like some mist in front of the moon
The only minor nit I have is the shadows from the brush in front of the church. Maybe a higher light source??
Congrats!
