So It arrived today, the Photographer's Forum Best of 2010 the book I paid 50 bucks for since I was a so called "finalist" and promised to have my image published in the book.. Although there are some great photos in there and not taking away from the winners by any means, I was a bit dissapointed to find that my cherished egret image was among some good photos but also what I would consider snapshot photos that they considered the finalists. Not to mention that it's almost a thumbnail on a page of 9 images. It seems that every one that entered became a 'finalist' as there are MANY and that was a bit dissapointing. Oh well can't be upset over another publication I guess but I'm kinda embarassed and need to rub off the word "SUCKER"" that seems to have appeared on my head LOL. Oh yes this is how we learn our lessons in life, I hear ya!!

Hey Cheryl, sorry you fell for that one At least you didn't lose your life savings like some people do in the internet scams.

I think someone had questioned if they should purchase this or not previously and the general summary was that it was essentially what you describe (that "everyone" is a finalist). However, it was $50 for a really nice book with beautiful images (well, at least some are beautiful). At least you got something for your $$$ - unfortunately they got a lot more for their money.

If it's the same company that I ran into several years ago, they have the same scam for poetry. Everyone that enters anything, is a finalist and gets published in their over-priced book.
Thanks for posting this Cheryl. It was your $50, but you've returned much greater value than that to the NPN community. To me this sounds like a production by the same company that does all the family tree books. You're in there!

FWIW, for $50 you can produce a very satisfying Blurb book of all your own images.
