Still snowing here in Southern New Hampshire. Thought I'd post some snow storm pics. This is my husband Joe digging a path through for Blue our Black Lab mix so he can go for a walk.
Anyone else have some storm pics (from anywhere)? News today said 49 states had snow on the ground.
I can't dig for photos at the moment but in a funny numeric coincidence, here in the 49th state we're behind schedule for snow! It's bare brown dirt here in Kodiak, and we've only had one decent snow. That was 4" on December 24, and you'd have trouble pulling together a snowball by New Years.

Here's a contrast for you. I was just out and about and snapped a shot of the hillside near our house. Y'all ought to come to Alaska and get out of the snow!
And yup, that's a bear trail wending it's way up through the grass.

Still snowing here! Generally 2 feet in our area with much higher drifts.
Interesting Hank. How much snow do you guys typically have by this time of year?

We live in a condo so our driveway is typically plowed by the snow plow company hired by the condo association but they are still busy trying to clear the roads. I went out mid afternoon to take other images with my 5DM2 and in some areas the snow was well over my knees. BTW - Images posted here were taken with my G9.
Down here at sea level it's rare to see it knee deep, and even those heavy dumps are usually rained on and gone within a very few days. I bet you could count such snows over the last 35 years on one hand. More snow is common at higher elevations, though. Maybe that's why most folks live pretty close to sea level.... In spite of tsunamis!!!

Jim/Sandy,
Left Oregon for the same reason and now live in Florida. Believe it or not, chains on a 4x4 go on the back wheels and not the front.

Normally in Valdez these pictures are something we deal with at least twice a week. Unlike Hank, we are also at sea level but we average over 300 inches per year and have had a couple years with as much as 800 inches (67 ft) of snowfall in one season. This year, so far, we have only had one good snowfall and most of that has blown away! The last couple days, while it was dumping on the rest of the lower 48 it was sunshining and 40°F at Valdez!
Love everyone's snow pics! We have 2, 3-month-old German Shepherd puppies who are pretty sure it snows *just* for their amusement!

This is not mine, but my daughter sent this one from Atlanta.

This looks like it could be New England Barbara (minus the number of snow plows to clear the roads).. I saw on the news Atlanta was slammed with snow and had a shortage of snow plows.
....and that's right Rebecka..... snow exists for the sole amusement of puppies, dogs, and kids of all ages (.....but not to drive to work in)! Although the roads were spotless on the way to work this morning.

LOVE the GSD photo, Rebecka!
I took this "early morning after" shot at dawn. I first tried processing 5 exposures as HDR but was not happy with the results. This is a single exposure processed in PS CS4 and I think it's pretty close to what the scene actually looked like.

So far, so good - especially now that I'm the California sun! When I want snow, I go to Tahoe for the weekend!
Empathy for all you guys snowed in, and dealing with the storms daily..
