I have a ton of B & H gift certificates that I would like to cash in for a new Nikon D7000 body only. I was told that I have to preorder it and they will send it when they get them.
I am leaving for a cruise in a short while and wonder if I should wait until I get back to order. I also hear that the early editions of this camera have had some minor problems. That is also food for thought in the waiting department until they correct them. What do you think? Any D7000 owners out there? If so what do you think of your new toy?

Donald, I wouldn't trust that you'll get your camera in time, regardless of the retailer, even one so reliable as B&H. My son has had one on order from a store in NJ that actually had them. When he ordered it, they were nice enough to contact him to explain that it was gray market and was he still interested. He said no, he prefers to wait for the regular, and he's still waiting.

Not sure if this interests you, but they're in stock (on the shelves) in many Canadian retail stores and at least some of these offer mail/web order services. I could put you on to at least one retailer that could ship you one today...
I have had my D7000 for several months - amazing camera for the price. I posted a mini-review (fairly detailed first impressions) of it on my website (seen by 85k eyeballs so far) - it's right here if you want to check it out:

Hi Donald.
It at least appears to me that in some cases there are more of the kits with the 18-105 available than there are 'body only'. I am not sure if this is just my perception, or if this is true. I have also been watching for a body only, but not very closely. If it is the case that there are more kits available, you may be able to grab a kit and sell the lens separately.
