Strange behavior of SD cards/Nikon D7000

Hi, i bought 2 16GB Integral SD cards as additonal cards for my Nikon D7000. I put them in the slots, turned the D7000 on and all is fine. However, when i turn the camera off, the camera's functions are all off but i can see on the top display of the camera all functions displayed as if the camera is on.

if i swap to the 2 Sandisk cards no problems. If i put in one Integral card and one Sandisk card, the display on the camera points only towards the Sandisk card.

Maybe they are just dodgy cards....however when i put the Integral cards in my Panasonic GF1, there don't seem to be any issues.

Any advise welcome

Is the camera actually capable of using the 16Gb cards? There are some cameras (and card readers) which can't use/read the larger SD cards. Check the specs of the camera and see what the manufacturer says is the biggest capacity.

Nick yes the D7000 can deal with that. The Sandisks are also 16GB!

Hi Rene
I have on another forum that somebody could not update the firmware with a certain brand but could with sandisk, Rob Galbraith has been testing the new Sandisk and it has a strange trait with the D7000, I only use sandisk in mine so have not seen a problem
