Swan 44
Not sure the story but went by a conservation area yesterday where there were two swans. I think they are trying to get them introduced into the area, so they are protecetd, captive or something. I stopped and spent a bit of time with them and thought I would share. The light was not the best but may be able to get back and shoot again.

Kendall, THANKS for posting this!
There are a couple Trumpeters like this at the Sacramento NWR, among the thousands there,.
I wasn't close enough to see just what it was, and I was afraid it was a neck stuck thru a discarded plastic object that would eventually strangle the swan.

Nice capture of this swan, Kendall...love the water drops coming from the beak! I believe it's a Trumpeter Swan, which are being introduced in other places too.

Nice catch of a Trumpeter Swan. They have been introduced into a number of wildlife areas in the Midwest and make for some great photography. From talking with folks at a couple of refuges they apparently don't migrate. They just move to the closest open water.
