OMG, it was one of the most amazing sunsets I've ever seen. It just would NOT quit! Sunset in the Springs was officially at 5:07, and I took my last shot at 5:54. I only stopped then because a) clouds had moved in front of Pikes Peak and b) a city worker was waiting for me to finish so he could close and lock the gate at the Mesa overlook.
Can't post anything here til tomorrow, but I'll probably throw the last shot of the evening up on ESS, and will post a link here when I do. Give me a few minutes.
Forgot it's not called ESS anymore, but here's the image from the LANDSCAPE forum, and here's a shot in the MAN & NATURE forum.
Jim, what an odd response.

I caught the sunset, too and used up a lot of megabytes of storage. Might have to try my hand at some HDR merging.
Can't wait to see your stuff.

I was stuck at Discount Tire getting new shoes for one of our cars, but it sure was a nice show.

I'm glad someone caught this, and you did a fine job, Todd. I was looking out the window at work watching.
I got a quick shot with my camera phone getting home from work but it sucks in comparison to yours :(. Between the pink sunrise/moonset and then the sunset, yesterday was one of those days to call in sick and just keep shooting. Glad you captured it, really gorgeous!
I was at the gym at the time and couldnt believe the sunset that wouldnt quit.
These are top drawer images.

It was an OUTSTANDING show in Loveland. Great background on Meeker and Longs. I was returning to the house (no camera) in tow. Pulled over and just enjoyed the show. Nice capture Todd.
Oh, great. My timing is impeccable as usual.
Both of those are remarkable, TC!

Gorgeous shot in the Landscape forum, love what looks like cloud blur on that one. What was the exposure length on that one given it was an hour after sunset?

Wow, amazing is correct.

I was at Mayflower Gulch planning on shooting sunset, but my feet got so cold, I lost feeling in my toes. So I packed out and watched the sunset from Leadville.

Nicely done X2 Todd! I think you had a better vantage point than I did...

Figures, I was working until 8pm so I missed it all! I did get up to shoot the setting moon over Garden of the Gods this morning. I was hoping for some cloud cover and one of those spectacular sunrises we've had lately. Looks like it was a nice one!

Todd,
I guess that I could have worded my original response much better. Sorry about that. I didn't mean that as a put-down of your photo or bragging of mine. It's more that I see nice sunsets so often overlooking Chatfield Park from my house that I don't get as excited about them like I used to, unless they are really spectacular.
It also may have looked much better from your angle. What I should have done is written nothing... It won't happen again.

I was returning from a day of skiing at Copper, and managed a number of shots from the west side of Wilkerson Pass. It was incredible, at one point there was color 360 degrees around me. I haven't even gotten to those frames yet as I'm still processing some snow covered mountain shots around Frisco. You Landscape shot is super sweet!
