Literally! At times I've found the fact that they light up the Camels at night to be an annoyance. In this instance I didn't mind so much. Kinda weird, I know, but just another example of last night's amazing light show.

I've always thought the spotlight was kinda obnoxious...now I'm not so sure...nice way to make use of it Todd.

Wow -- cool shot indeed. The natural light show is amazing!
I'm glad someone was out taking shots last night! I was in awe driving home and just staring at the glowing sky. I'm still kinda up in the air about the spotlight....

Nice shot. Your timing is amazing !

Another fine shot from that evening! I really do like the spotlit effect, esp. when there's a unique and interesting formation being lit. Is this an annual occurrence or was it just happenstance?
I'm not sure they understand this is an artificial light, TC. It don't matter here! Great seizing of the moment and it works perfectly with that incredible sky.

Oops...shoulda read the original post a bit closer.
I agree with Morris, though...don't matter to me at all.

I also didn't know about them lighting that up. Thanks for sharing. I think that the sunset was much better down there than it was up here. Great color.

The light on the camels adds a bit of mystery to a wonderful image. I like the colors and the composition.

I've seen the spotlit camels while driving by but didn't realize they light them up as early as sunset. Your shot takes wonderful advantage of the light both natural and man-made. I think its great and not unlike using light painting techniques to do similar shots.

As of now, I have been introduced to the spotlight on the Kissing Camels. I think it's obnoxious. However, over time maybe I will appreciate the lit up Kissing Camels in beautiful photos like this one.

This is pretty darn cool, Todd.

Wow, something new! How very refreshing! Nice shot Todd.
I'm sitting here with my laptop in my lap and the monitor slightly tilted back and as I scroll down to read the replies the picture naturally scrolls up off the screen. While doing this the colors darken and it looks as if the sky and spotlight in the picture are darkening as the sun sets. Like the spotlight is fading out as the sun sets. I've done it three or four times now and its like a video. Cool! Nice pic too!

Ha! Cool trick, Dottie! I just tried the same ting on my laptop.
