Ok, so I am going to be in Denver this weekend for the Shindig! Now that you have to deal with another Californian in your region, I am wondering if anyone wants to go out shooting this Friday. I arrive on Thursday evening and will be staying with Brent Doerzman... thanks Brent!.... I really have nothing to do on Friday. Thanks in advance.

Wish I could... But it will be awesome to see you at the shindig!
I would also like to, but unfortunately work gets in the way again!! See you at the shindig though.

Ok...so at least I have some people willing to take me out. Don't worry, I won't drive and roll anyone's 4Runner.
Maybe we can all go on a pre Shindig outing? I am game for just about anything, but if there are any options that would include some ice abstracts, that would be fantastic. Thanks for all the responses so far.

Hey Jimmy! It will be nice to see you at the Shindig! Wish I could get out on Friday.
If you're out an about Denver on Saturday, think about stopping by CAZ and I's gallery. I'll be there from about 10am until I leave for the shindig. 4420 Tennyson St.

Well, based on Kane's recent post, it appears you should be able to satisfy your ice cravings at Dream Lake. I'd be up for the trip, but need to be back home by late afternoon.
Morris and Mel, any other suggestions?

No, I think the ice at Dream Lake is what Jimmy is looking for. Its a LOOONG drive for me to shoot sunrise, but I can probably make it work. However, I do need to make it back to town by mid-day. I've got an outback with seating for four and room for gear. As long as they don't get any new snow up there between now and Friday it would be worth pursuing and it doesn't really look like snow is in the forecast.

Hey Jimmy, why don't you see if you can drag our old CNP chum Darren Kilgore along Saturday night. I doubt I'm the only one who would enjoy seeing him.

I'd love to see Dream Lake... never been up there. Would this require snowshoes? If we don't make it up, I think I may head up there on Sunday with Brent, so Mel, if it's too long of a drive, maybe there's something else closer?
Hey Todd.... yeah, I will shoot him an email now. It would be nice to see him there for sure.
Great, Dream Lake and great photog company, and now my boss says he may have work for me. Dang it! I will let you know later today hopefully.

Jimmy, as long as it doesn't snow Dream doesn't require snowshoes. I think it is easier without them most of the time. If I can get the day off I will meet you all up there for sunrise!

Agreed, snowshoes are not helpful at Dream Lake when it hasn't snowed. Its easier to just walk up the packed trail. I have several pairs of snowshoes in case, but really don't think they're needed.
I have been to Dream a few times, but would very much like to have some portfolio grade stuff from there, and haven't gotten it yet, so I'm in for the drive.
I'm still not sure what I'll be doing Saturday. 50/50 between Breck and the Shindig right now.

So, looks like we should have a few people on Friday at Dream Lake. I will try and email all of you to see if we can coordinate rides and times. Not sure what the consensus is, but I don't necessarily need a sunrise. I would prefer just concentrating on ice shots in the shade. Any thoughts?

Looks like I will be able to make it after all! I am up in Loveland so unless any of you decide to drive through town I will meet you guys up there.

Hey Jimmy - I might be able to join you guys up there. Caught a nasty bug last week but starting to get better. If I feel OK in the AM I'll head out.
I do have to work tomorrow.
Man, I hate Murphy and his dang law. I hope you guys have great light and little wind! See you at the shindig.
Hey Mel, how can you pass up the shindig?
