YNP and GTNP-October,2010
Okay Morris, I've been delinquent in my posting as well so here is a series of wildlife in Yellowstone and Grand Teton NP this past Sept/October

A rather large bull moose at the Gros Ventre campground in Grand Teton NP, just before sunrise.

Here's another of a cinnamon black bear in GTNP

And another of the same bear eating some berries.

And here's a couple of river otters from Yellowstone, taken in very low light at 800iso giving me only 1/100sec shutter speed

Not only did you get an amazing variety of animals, every single one is high caliber! Geeze, I've never even seen a coyote in Yellowstone much less river otters! The bear eating the berries is such a great behavior shot Don. The moose is sublime :toast:

Great series of shots Don. That was one of the biggest Moose this year in Gros Ventre in a long time. Was that the bear on Moose Wilson?

Don, that moose image has really nice lighting, pose, and dof to make it a pleasure to view.

Great series, Don. I love the comp, lighting, and limited DOF on that moose shot. Never seen anything like #3 before. What a great capture. I'm a sucker for Otters, so I love that one.

Pam's thoughts reflect my views here. This is indeed professional caliber wildlife photography that I've enjoyed viewing. Thanks for that!

Thanks everybody, I spent almost 3 weeks between the two parks. I lucked into the otters after searching for them for a couple of hours in the Madison River, only to find them after giving up and heading back upstream towards Madison Junct. where a crowd had gathered watching their antics. I also spent 5 days shooting the bears on Wilson Road which is where I got both bear shots. Some days were a bust, especially in YNP where very little was happening. I did get to see a Mom Grizzly with 2 cubs of the year swim across the Yellowstone River from about 60 yards away. I was stuck in a traffic bear jam though and wasn't able to photograph it, it lasted about 3-5 minutes, but I got a lot of mental pixels burned on that one.

Exceptional images, Don! I wish I had your patience when it comes to wildlife.

Really nice work Don. One of the critters missing from my photo files is a big bull moose. Hopefully I can correct that this year or next.
I echo what Pam and John said. The bear eating berries is spectacular. Stellar work!
