Already aware of these damn numbers as one time it cost our charity £1407.98 in call charges without us knowing about it until the bill came in from BT. This was caused from the web where an automactic dialer was positioned on our system, BT still wanted their money. This will never happen again because I have asked BT to block all numbers of this kind from telephone system. This now is a great deterant because if you attempt to dial a number like the one posted above you will be told & BT won't connect you. Bitten once but never again
Still cost us a lot of money & unnecessary stress Bar Stewards

Hi Philip
thanks for the information.

Thanks for the heads-up. But how can you have been charged £15 as soon as you hear the message? At my last job I was in charge of the company telephones (among other things) and this included billing. Some staff had been calling numbers beginning 09 (premium rate) and was informed by BT that the *maximum* you can be charged for a call is £1.50 PER MINUTE.
I'm not sure, therefore, how you can instantly have a £15 'connection charge'?
