A not so uncommon bird in India this species is very restless and because of its small size is pretty hard to capture. Shot in Calcutta (Kolkata) this is from my recent trip to India.
I did'nt think you would be back from your trip until Friday, so you weren't called out to post some shots, but here you are! Excellent, Soubhik. These are both excellent!
#1 is fantastic.. I would almost wonder what it would look like with a tighter comp. I can't decide if the leaf to the right is distracting or adding to the scene, so seeing the crop might tell me that. Great shot either way.

Wow! These are really good, Soubhik. You did a great job capturing a bird that few (if any) here have seen. Love the catch light you got in the eye of #1. That just adds so much life to wildlife images.
I think that cropping out that leaf on the right as Koveh suggested may work well. See what you think.
Congratulations, and I sure hope to see more from your trip!

Those are both great images. I agree that the leaf on the right of #1 may be a bit distracting, but it's only a minor nit. Nice work!

Ooh, these are terrific, Soubhik! I really like the backlighting here.

Great work, Soubhik! I think #1 is fantastic, but I agree with the others about cropping the leaf. I'd like to see more from your trip.

Cool! A one-legged bird! All joking aside, these are fine images. Love the lighting and sharpness. Great job!
