When I was out at Monument Valley last year for the first time, I wanted to visit all the classics. Hey, it was my first trip there so of course I had to see the famous viewpoints.
But I also tried to photograph them a little different too. Here is the famous Ansel Rocks but hopefully a slightly different take by taking in some of the other mesas and not just the Mittens.
Once I had my Mittens shot I was ready to go in search of the really different images and not the icons.
BTW-Snow in Monument Valley is an awesome experience, I felt really lucky.

Love seeing this area with all the snow! I wish you got this shot a little earlier in the morning, that big bright object in the sky is kind of distracting might want to try a pano crop and these clouds have some nice interest, maybe a BW conversion too. I need to get out there sometime after a fresh snow, thanks for the motivation

Aleksandra, I got this a little late because I had already been in the valley since earlier in the morning. This was after I had already had the more interesting stuff and I had already packed up up my tent and was heading to Page. Made one last stop by the rocks and liked the mid-morning light.
On a side note, I posted this since Morris was calling people out for not posting. Wanted him to know his actions were even getting people from other regions to post.

Your first time, and you got snow!!!!!!! Very cool!
I've been there half a dozen times and never saw snow, maybe if I went in the winter, that might be the key!

Don, it was a chance to photograph Monument Valley and the Grand Canyon with snow that led me to going in February.
I liked it so much I am leaving for Moab in three weeks so I can see Canyonlands and Arches in winter...and hopefully snow.

Red rock + snow always = awesome! This is nice, Darren. Have you thought of cropping out most of the sky and making it a pano? No? Me neither. Never even crossed my mind. Or did it?
That's great, Darren. Post over here anytime you have something from this area, or even OT. We welcome all comers. I really like the shot! Nice color and light. I am intrigued by Todd's nons suggestion of a pano crop.
Great shot and a very thoughtful comp. As others have said, you'll need to do something with the OE upper right part of the sky, but it's still killer!

Nice comp. Love seeing the red rocks and snow together. I agree with the others about trying a pano crop. Overall great shot though!

Super shot, sans the sun brightness, and snow there had to have been magical.
