Shortly before Christmas I injured my back skiing and I have been pretty much laid up since then. A week ago I came down with this horrible bronchitis making the rounds, a two-week, cough up 2/3rds of your lungs ailment. For the latter reason, you will not see me this evening. I am disappointed but there is now way I would expose my friends to this crud. (If someone coughs nearby - RUN!)
In November Dave Bartlett and I were in White Sands Nat. Mon. Here are a couple of shots from then.

One of my harshest critics thought the mountains in the background were distracting in this one. I would have preferred getting low enough to eliminate them but that would have involved heavy equipment digging. Your judgment? Do the mountains wreck it? Do they add depth? Other comments?

Let's end with a pretty face. Rocky Mountain Nat. Park - December 6th.
The White Sands shots are very cool. The do look just a little too blue, but that could just be my dinosaur of a monitor. I really like the comps in #1 and #3! Sorry you can't make it tonight. Take care of the back and cough.

Get well Rod. I had the same thing and missed the first 2 1/2 weeks of the year. Now I'm trying to catch up on all the work I missed. It's been a crazy couple of weeks to say the least.
I hope I can make it tonight .. I'm working to get these servers built and all configured up so I can be there tonight.

Hope ya get to feeling better real soon!
I sure like the first two WS images, but the third just doesn't do anything for me. It's not just the visible mountains, but the entire scene lacks a compelling interest that the first two possess. Sorry...

Best wishes. Nothing like a good cough to jar the old back. What a combination.

Love the shots, and talking about shots, maybe a few shots of brandy (per hour) might help you out!
