A morning in the wind!
Thanks for all the kind words, many many thanks to Rich, Brent and Qube for all their hard work in putting on our Annual Shindig! :toast:

Friday I took the opportunity to met up with Bill, Rene and Jimmy up at Dream Lake. It was a nice morning, the wind was only blowing 15-20mph. The sun was out, we took complete use of it by spending all morning in the shade. It was a great couple hours attempting to get some new ice abstracts.

Every year the ice up at dream is slightly different, this year I found exceptionally unique because there are large sections of it that are completely smooth. This offered up some great opportunity for reflections.

C&C Welcome!

I find where the rock butts up against the ice to have a lot of character, though often it is very difficult for me to get a decent composition.

I love that reflection composition in #1. Those peaks fit so nicely between the cracks.

Wind? I didn't notice any wind, except that one little gust that blew your camera + tripod across the lake.

I like the ice abstracts best, and #1 is outstanding!

All of those are cool shots, Jim, but I also think #1 is a cut above the others. Great job with the reflection.

Nice! Really like the comp in that second image. Like the reflections of the mtns of the first as well.

Great stuff man! I know all about that wind on Sat morning when I was there. Not only was I chasing my pack once, then the camera on tripod another time, but the wind blew my camera strap and it whipped across my eyeball! What the...

Nice shots Jim. I like the first one as do the others. However, I think #4 is my favorite. Just something about it. I think it's the layers of refelctions top to bottom. Very unique.

#1 is very cool with the reflections...different! My favs are 2 (maybe tone down the ULC a bit)and 4. Great abstracts and very attractive ! Nice work Jim :toast: So fun talking to you at the Shindig and you have the greatest smile BTW...I'm sure you've NEVER been told that before

Nice collection, but that first one is a knockout!

Favorite is 4 as a catching and appealing abstract.
It is interesting how one section of ice will be smooth, and the next piece on the other side of the crack will be rippled.

These are all so cool, Jim. I really like the first image. It was great to head up there with you and Bill on Friday...kinda neat too, as I was basically on the beaches of San Diego only 12 hours before
