I shot about 400 images on a new CF card a day or two ago before I got an error message something to the effect of reinsert the card. I did this and immediately got the same message. I installed a new card and continued shooting but I would like to recover my images. I have downloaded the Lexar recovery program but it finds nothing. What do I do next?
Try to find a Lexar phone number to ask for help - maybe a place like Fry's, who sells Lexars, might have a Lexar phone number.
If worse comes to worse, there are professional recovery places that can help, for a not-small (but not too bad) fee. I paid $40 once for a CF recovery that I couln't recover with any of the above tricks, and it was worth it for the half-dozen really good shots of the 300 on the card.
Good luck!
I hope others will also offer some thoughts.

One tip - copy an image of the whole card to your hard drive and work on that. That way you don't risk making things worse!

I stumbled across a free package by CONVAR that worked when nothing else would. It's called "PC Inspector Smart Recovery". Website www.convar.com. I used it to recover files from a card I had reformatted mistakenly thinking I had already downloaded the files. Dumb dumb dumb. I had even taken a few new photos so I'm sure some files were overwritten but that did not keep it from recovering almost 4gb of files. Hope this helps.
