Winter Forest
I made this image tonight at White Ranch Park along the edge of a north facing forest. It was cool to see so much snow holding on the trees before the wind and warmth gets to 'em tomorrow. Oh, and it was -10 when I got back to the car, but totally comfortable minus the wind.

Beautiful. Hopefully, you still have all of your fingers. The only things that I wonder about is how it might look if you cropped in a little to the right of that bush in the bottom right and added a little brightness.

Cool shot, both literally and figuratively! I know what you mean about the wind. I've been amazed the last few days how even the slightest breeze can cut through you like a knife.

I dunno, once it gets below zero i get cold enuff even sans the wind! Pretty shot, Dave!

This is a very pretty scene, Dave. Perfect Christmas card. I had the same thought as Jim about maybe bringing up the brightness, but it works as is too.

The rime ice makes for great textures in this one. Looks brutally cold! Nice shot.

Beautiful image. Love the detail in the ice and needles. I also like the contrast and color with the tree trunks.

A little brighter - with slightly brighter vison this morning.

Thansk for the comments!

Yeah, that second version is much better, it rocks!

Beautiful wintry scene. I like the brighter version, as well.

One of my favorite parks, nicely done :toast:

The snowy needles are very nice, but the way you've composed the shot with just a hint of tree trunk in an eye catching location in the photo is great.

Yep very nice indeed. The brighter version does it!

Dave, I really like this composition. Frosted trees are always a fun subject and you've done a fine job with them here.
