This month's cover image and photo of the month is a Black-billed magpie landing with nesting materials taken by NPNer, Mia McPherson. Nice work, Mia, and congratulations!

Our first article this month is by NPN regular and contributing editor, Alain Briot. Preparation In Fine Art Landscape Photography patiently explains how proper preparation can make or break any photo outing. This is Part One of a two-part series.

Next, another of our contributing editors, Samantha Chrysanthou, demonstrates the importance of the element of time photography in The Temporal Nature of Photography. This is a fascinating and thoughtful essay well worth reading.

With a month or two of winter remaining, there is still time to create those snowy landscape images you've been dreaming of. Nye Simmons offers some great tips on winter photography with Winter in the Smokies: After it Snows.

And Kate Silvia gives some great advice on a well-known photography locale near Charleston, South Carolina in Sweet Magnolia.

Thanks to all our contributors this month, as always. NPN members, please leave a comment down at the bottom of each article if you feel compelled to do so. Have a great month, everyone.
