Gore Range Summer Snow
This is from the west side of the Gore Range last summer. Clouds were racing by and it had snowed a couple of times that morning. I tried the sharpening for WEB tips I got (thanks guys!) for posting here. Comments?

I like the ruggedness of the Gore's. Seems a touch on the blue-side on my monitor, but I think that adds to the mood. I can see pitching my tent in that spot, bundling up, and waiting for the trout to get overly confident with the cloud cover. What lake is that?

It's Piney lake. I've been up there probably too many times! It is a beautiful place.

Beautiful shot, Russ! The reflection is really nice, and the peaks look huge disappearing into those clouds. I'd agree that you might want to play with the color balance a bit, mainly in the clouds which look pretty cyan to me. Web sharpening looks good, though the peaks seem a little softer than the trees, but that's not a big deal.

Ditto what the others said on the cyan cast but...this is still a pretty darn good shot IMO! Web processing looks good too.

This is simply majestic! The vertical composition shows this off well.
The color cast noted is really slight, but looks better corrected.
My only complaint is that I wish you had posted it at the full 720 px allowed so I could savor this even more.

Well done, the clouds really add to this scene.

Looks like a beautiful place! The vertical crop works well here. Also agree about the cyan cast here. Would be worth it to visit this location again in some better light.

Beautiful scene! With all the aspens, this looks like a great fall opportunity.

The color cast doesn't bother me. What I am really drawn to is the reflection. It's subtle. I'm surprised the lake was that calm with so much atmospheric stuff going on. Really a beautiful image.

That is a beautiful lake and view and your shot shows it off at it's best. Excellent work.

Nice comp, Russ. I'm with the others about the color cast. I had the same thought as Bill about seeing this in autumn.
