Snow in Texas
Last week it was 75 and sunny. This week has been ice and snow. 3 days of the office closed! So I have wandered around here locally with camera.

Here are a few.

First one is taken not far from where I live, as I call them-The Great Falls of the Clear Fork.

For those into the gear thing it is with my Panasonic LX3 handheld.

Another from when the snow was still falling while walking the river.

And lastly some ice patterns.

Hope everyone is warm this cold winter!

The last shot of the ice patterns is nice. A little more contrast and it will pop.

75 and sunny huh. This morning we were -10 and that's without the wind chill. For the next week our highs won't reach the mid 20's. We're flying to Palm Springs in a week to see what the warm weather looks like. It's been to long since we lived in SoCal. Hopefully it will warm up by time we get back and I won't have to re-shovel our drive to reach the house.....

It's nice of you'all to have snow just in time for the Superbowl. Football weather ya know. And actually I find your shots kind of appropriate in another way, your avatar belies the fact you hail from TX what with you so bundled up in that shot.

Nice work on these Darren.

Yep, it was 75 last Saturday and then we have had our 4 coldest days in 25 years this week. They held the Super Bowl a week too late.......

Winter photography is awesome, I just usually have to travel to find winter. This week I got lucky and winter found me.

My avatar images is a little self portrait from being at the Grand Canyon last February. I was camping in single digit temps and got snowed on 4 of 8 days. Yes, it was a totally awesome trip! Liked it so much I leave for Canyonlands in just over a week.

And an updated bubbles shot with more contrast.

Darren,
Thanks for sharing.
And the last "bubbles" with more contrast really does 'pop'.

Hey Darren, I like the repost of the bubbles. The contrast adds a lot to the impact of the image.

Nice shots. I can't believe all the bad winter weather everyone is having. Too bad it's been pretty nice here  I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the bubble shot. That is so awesome!! Have fun playing in the snow.

And the snow is now basically gone. The week in review of Texas weather

Sat a week ago -Sunny and 75

Tue- Ice and snow wind chill below zero

Wed-Thurs- Cold, iced over streets,

Friday -more snow but a pleasant 20 degrees-great for a walk

Sat- Sunny 55, wearing shorts again.

We had our coldest 4 days in 25 year this week bookended by typical Texas winter weather.

Well, it was nice while it lasted........
