Hunting Island
Well, I am still a little under the weather since last week, so I am stuck in here and cant be outdoors somewhere shooting. Guess I'll post an image from last week. This was sunrise, day 2 of mine and Jerry's SC Coastal workshop - at Hunting Island.

Cool! Looks good Bern! I hope that I can get a few images posted in a few days. Oh, we need to schedule a few more workshops!

Cool, Rich...

I didn't get anything that morning I liked except for a couple of the backlit palms (which I've not played with yet). Not sure my brain was really functioning that early. Maybe next time...

In Denver this week... will probably be looking at heading to the hills the week after I'm back.

Here's a pic I took that afternoon... the Photoshop job is lame (mostly because my P-Shop abilities are lame), but it gets the idea across.

I love the images from Hunting Island. Is it close to Hilton Head?? Are there certain areas on the island that are better than others for photography?

Alice,

Hunting Island is about 20 miles from Beaufort. It is all within a State Park but there are certain areas that are better than others. It would be hard to explain where they are here.

Steve,

I think some PS work could improve your image - but great subject matter. Here is my rendition from a different angle with softer light.

jpg compression is killing the detail here, but you get the idea

I think I got some better stuff that Friday when Jerry and I were there - but we wont talk about what happened to those images

Yeah... I know. My P-shop abilities admittedly stink and I probably spent all of 5 minutes putzing with it to send to a friend who was interested in seeing something from the weekend. And the harsh light both Saturday and Sunday was a little grim to work with on such contrasty stuff.

Next time I expect you guys to order better shooting conditions (without the dang no-see-ums and ticks, too!)

Cool images. I am heading there in July for some photography. Looking forward to it especially after seeing some of the possibilities.
