A couple from this morning
Here are two photos that I took this morning in Roxborough and Chatfield. It was still snowing lightly when I took the Roxborough panorama from above Arrowhead Golf Course. (No HDR this time and there was no need anyway.)

Plum Creek in Chatfield State Park.

That first one is fantastic. Looks so very cold. :toast:

I like the first better than the second, and they're both great scenes, but they look like they're way over-sharpened. Esp. #2.

I like them both and they don't appear over-sharp on my screen.

I agree that the second one looks way over sharpened after I uploaded it. I'm still trying to get a handle on finding the right amount on these small files. I almost deleted it and did a re-edit, but didn't want to go through the trouble this time.

I go for the first one. I like the crop. There is also a nice visual balance between the brighter sky on the left and the more massive rock feature on the right.

I just realized that I meant to upload this one instead of the second photo, since I'm thinking that this is a better composition. I didn't add any sharpening after resizing this time. Opinions?

I like the comp in the other one a little better to be honest.

I agree with Jack. The curved stream provides, without the brush provides a much better leading line.

You certainly had a lot more snow in the southwest metro area than we got in the north!
I love those flatirons smothered in snow.

I prefer the second scene--nicer S curve and some cool snow up front on the plants. I also like #1, nice high key look! :wavey:

Really like the soft light in the first image. Also like the snow on the rocks.

The pano is a great moody shot of Roxborough, and I'm glad you uploaded the 2nd stream shot. The S-curve in the 3rd post is a nice composition, and the snowy grasses in the fg make a nice anchor.

That first one is just gorgeous with all the snow. I wanted to get out this weekend as well with all this puffy snow but I got stuck dog sitting some needy pups and couldn't really get away. I'm so close to both of these locations and still haven't been there shooting so thanks for the motivation

Love the 1st shot!! I too like the second shot of the creek. I like the added foreground of the 3rd shot!!

Jim, all three are well done for me. Like the compositions and the mood of all three. My screen does not pick up the sharpening issues.

I like 1 and 3 a lot, but the 2nd not as much becasue the creek is coming out of the corner. The first may be the best I've seen from that vantage point - the snow restores the gold course to a native landscape.

Love that first image Jim, great composition, especially with the rocks disappearing into the fog.

Jim, I like the 1st one but I think I'd like to see more of the snow covered foliage in the foreground. I agree that the 3rd shot is a better comp of the river. The fresh snow looks great.

That first one is sweet! I like the pano. format, all that snow, the 'high key' look and especially how the Flatirons fade in the distance.
Well done, Jim! :toast:

Ditto what John said. The first one is sweet! Check out web sharpening tips by Marc Adamus on the NPN forum.
