Winter shots at White Ranch Open Space
In a rare move I shot and edited these images the same day. Usually they sit on my hard drive for a month before I edit them.

I took these at White Ranch Open Space Park. I went on a hike with the wife and dog and then decided to head for the old barn at the bottom of the valley. There's no trail to it and I don't have snowshoes but it was fairly easy getting down in the foot deep snow; it was much harder getting back up though. I took the dog with me (she loves the snow) and we were both surprised to find 4 cows taking shelter in the barn. The cows decided to go off and graze but it was still cool to see them out in the snow.

EDIT: Snow appears somewhat grey on the jpgs here but it should look ok on my website and definitely looks good on my computer.

#1. Cold Grasp

The first one looks a little soft to me. But what I really like about it is the sky behind the tree. It's a nice hot spot. #2 I would crop up from the bottom a bit. The others look good to me. It's a nice collection.

Interesting barn and fence. I like #3 in how the opening in the fence leads my eyes to the barn. Nice set with the fresh snow.

A very beautiful series.

Beautiful conditions Jason. I like #2 the best, great even light and a lot of nice elements in the scene.

(BTW, you have two dust specks in the LLC in all the photos  )

Nice series - it's cool to see what a few cows do for the White barn and the snow really makes the contemporary roof image-worthy.

I like the first one, the sky appears to have provided a pleasing natural vignette on it. I also like #4 for the composition of the barn and the cow looking at the camera! I like the comp on #5 but the sky is just a bit bright for my taste. Nice group Jason.

Glad you posted larger versions, Jason. It's amazing how much brighter the snow is on those versions. Why is that??
Anyway, I like 'em all. That barn is in such a cool setting, especially when the area is covered in snow. Good for you for workin' to get these!

Nice series. I really like the barn images, especially the first two, although I'd clone out that stick, or marker, in the LRC of #2. My favorite though is #1.

Great series of images, #1 has some a nice mood to it but #3 is my choice of them all.

A beautiful series. I think #3 would look excellent cropped into a pano format.

All are done very well and are quite beautiful. I really like the light in that first one! It just needs a touch more sharpening. I also like the different views of the barn, and the one of the cow. The last one looks like the brights are blown some on my monitor. :toast:
