My Epson 4800 has decided to give me they old classic clogging problem. I just recently moved my printer into the main living area of our home due to a new addition to our family. In that living area is a wood stove that we use to heat the home with, therefore our house is very dry but this has never been a problem until now. I have run normal cleaning cycles, power cleaning cycles and I have tried the puddle cleaning technique. I keep a sponge in a dish full of water near the print head and the printer covered at all times. There was some air bubbles in the ink lines that I think I took care of but I am still missing four colour channels when doing a print head check. I am just looking for any advice or suggestions as what to do? Any and all help is appreciated, Thank you.

I have an Epson R800...which clogged and could not clear it with software. I used one of the internet printer cleaning companies that sends you a liquid and syringes where you force clean the jets. Forget exactly how this works. Cleaned it right up and the print tests came back fine. I also blotted up the residual ink from the "collection pads" while using the same liquid to soften the ink up. This worked well also. I figure if I had sent the printer in for cleaning, it would have cost about the same as the printer. I figure I have doubled the life of the printer and will do it again the next time it clogs or the "collection pads" get full.

You have to be prepared to get into your hardware to do this...not too difficult once you begin and figure it out.

I used one of the internet cleaning companies too and bought all new inks for my Epson 2200. Finally resolved the problem.

Thanks Larry I had seen that youtube video and no such luck for me. I did it a few times and left the soaked paper towel over night and it still never fixed my problem. Nancy all my inks are new and not expired, I will not be replace the inks- mucho dollars. Thanks though. Cheers
