Apostle Islands Sled Dog Race

This past weekend my Wife and I headed up to Bayfield, Wisconsin to watch the 16th annual sled dog race.
It was our first time at sled dog races and it was really enjoyable. It makes for a great family outing if it isn't too cold.

We also stopped at the Apostle Islands and hiked out over the Ice Caves. The ice isn't open for hiking but the lakeshore trail above the caves is open.

I have some additional information and additional photos on my Blog.

looks like a fun winter trip Phil. I went dog sledding for a weekend several years ago in Canada...it was a blast! I'd like to see a race sometime.

Phil, That sounds like a fun time. I have never been to the dog sled races, but think I will try and make it next year. Thanks for posting this.
