What happened to the Gallery - land, sea (water), and sky? I have numerous photos of rock formations, that are not macro shots...they fit neither in the Landscape category, nor the Macro/Closeup Gallery. Could we bring that gallery back.

Look at my photo "Optical Geollusion" in the Macro/Closeup Gallery and the artistic rendering of it in the Photo Art Gallery. The photo art one is definitely art....But a lot of the geologic structures I would like to post are, definitely, NOT MACRO. I think I got away with it this time. But, this type of photo deserves a different category!

Hope you agree.

Lucy, the Landscape gallery is now what was formerly known as the Earth Sea and Sky gallery... they are identical. Just a simple name change. We typically call ourselves landscape photographers, not earth sea and sky photographers

Floris, Are you saying that a photo of an interesting boulder or arrangement of boulders, with no reference point for the sky or ground...would be accepted as landscape? It would certainly not be macro, if the boulder is large. I would liken it to a photo of a single flower or a portion of a log that is interesting..... I think of landscape as photos with a broad field of view including the sky, sea, or ground. ????

Lucy,

Many people would call an image of "an interesting boulder or arrangement of boulders" an intimate landscape.

Thanks, just did not want to get thrown out of the forum!
