One of the best shots I've seen of one of this species, the raised leg is a big plus here.

I guess I'll be odd man out here. While I love the pose with the lifted foot and the catch light in the eye, I find the straight on view of the bill somewhat disorienting.

I see Paul's point, but still feel that this is an excellent portrait, primarily because of the stare and the angle of the bird's foot.
Almost like a candid moment. Another fine catch, Dan!

I like it. The eye is very catching to the eye. Great portrait shot!
