RMNP Windscapes (B&W or Color?)
I have a few images of the summit of Thatchtop appearing above the blowing snow clouds from a visit last week to RMNP. These were taken at the same time as my recent Landscape forum post of Longs Peak and Mt. Meeker. First, I need some opinions on whether you prefer B&W or color. Second, I want to know whether you prefer the inclusion of sky in the image (does it give the image more appearance of depth?) or the closer zoom (does it make it look a bit more abstract?) I'm having trouble deciding if one approach is better than the other. Thanks for looking and for your comments!

I like both color versions better, but beyond that I haven't got a clue.

Color, no sky - don't know why.

I don't have anything intelligent to say to back up my preferences, but my gut feeling like color without sky and B&W with sky.

Hmm... maybe it's that the slight blue cast makes the no-sky shot feel colder, but the blue sky dominates and overshadows any color cast in the other comp.

I actually prefer the B&W in both cases, and the no-sky color version looking good too.

I'm gonna side with Jackson here.
B&W for the first because that slice of sky adds a much need black tone, which is lacking in #2's mostly grey tones.
Color for #2 because of the reason stated, and just because it's so damn beautiful.

Color for me, too. Although the blue of the sky looks a little electric on my monitor, but that might explain it.

Really like the color without sky.

I'm all messed up... I liked the B&W with the sky but the color one without.. I think I hit my head too hard this weekend.

I would say B&W with sky or color without. The blue looks a tad over saturated to me...at least on my monitor.

Thanks for the comments everyone. It is appreciated. The sky of the color version on the posting looks more saturated to me too than on my original file. I'll take a look at that.
