More Information:
- The Loka has the slimmest profile of our packs that we currently offer (37L)
- It rides closer to the body then any of our other packs.
- 100% Airline Carry On Safe
Here is a few web reviews of the Loka to give you a better handle on how this pack is different from last months Tilopa B.C.
You can also find countless others by doing your own google searches.
* In the near future we will have a brand new website and shopping cart, full of new product videos, shots and workbooks that detail every facet of every product we offer.
I have one of these with Colby kindly sent to the UK last October.
I couldn't be more happier with a day/rough-overnight pack. Excellently build, well thought out and a real bonus to my photography.
If, like me, you work with minimal kit for landscape, (I use a Leica M with 3 lenses) the small ICU does the job really well, leaving enough space in the Loka to take all the other stuff that a day out requires, or a rough-bivi needs.
I have to strap the tripod (G1228) onto the outside of the pack, but it doesn't move at all.
I have a second Large ICU which I keep packed with the 1d4 body and macro stuff and just swap them around as needs be. As you can guess the Loka with the large ICU it gives just enough room for a fleece, mitts and lunch in the main compartment, a waterproof in the front; keys, monocular, compass, hat, map and iphone/wallet in the top and a sit-sheet in the base where the rain cover would be stored.
Cheers

I am in. How do I order?
Posted by Bruce Malarky on February 17, 2011 at 2:21 PM
Looks good to me too. Do we just go to the website to order?
Posted by Jim Erhardt on February 17, 2011 at 3:08 PM
Arnab and Bruce, see the About This Forum link above on how group buys work.
Toward the end of the group buy event Colby will send all members who have posted their intention to participate a discount code to place their order.
Since this is limited to NPN members only, you must post in this thread so Colby can send the code to you.
Posted by Colby Brown on February 17, 2011 at 6:12 PM
Thanks Jim for chiming in! He is right. Just let me know if you want to participate in this event and I will contact you near the end of this months unique "Group Buy" discount and give you all the necessary information and codes.
@Paul and @Arnab - I have you marked down
@Tom - Good to know the Loka is still your #1 pack :)
* I am currently out of the country, working in Haiti at the moment (I happen to also be a professional photographer as well as VP of Events with F-Stop) so it might take me a few days to respond to any emails. I will be back state side on Monday.

I may be interested, is it possible to get Loka + 1 ICU + Rain Cover as I already have a Camelbak?
In addition, how much would postage costs be to Australia?
Cheers
Posted by Colby Brown on February 18, 2011 at 6:30 AM
@Tomas - The Hydration Sleeve is not a water bladder, but a seem sealed extra layer or protection for utilizing a water system inside the pack. It is not required to utilize your camelbak, just give you an extra piece of mind.
We now have a distributer set up in Australia, so assuming he has what you want in stock, it should be fairly inexpensive.

Count me in for a green one with all the bells and whistles and a large ICU, and i might want to add, if possible (i know the pricing will be standard) a small ICU also.
many thanks, i can't wait
Joyce

I'll definitely be in for the Loka but no bells and whistles for me. I travel really light and the Loka with a medium ICU will suit me perfectly, even for extended travel. An extra small ICU might be worth adding too. I'm in Australia too...
thanks

Great! Put me down for a Green Loka + Rain Cover + Sleeve with Medium ICU

Sign me up for one with the bells and whistles and a large ICU. Been waiting for a bag like this...
Posted by Colby Brown on February 22, 2011 at 9:45 AM
@Joyce @Kefyn @Thomas and @Kate - You have all been added to the list
Posted by Glenn Starr on February 22, 2011 at 8:45 PM
Colby...What about me???
Posted by Colby Brown on February 24, 2011 at 10:20 AM
@Glenn - Sorry man. Missed ya. You are on the list as well :)
Hey Colby,
I would be interested in one with all the bells and whistles if you could extend the free shipping to Canada. Cheers
Posted by Colby Brown on February 25, 2011 at 4:13 PM
Sorry Raymond, the Free Shipping is just to US Customers for this specific Group Buy. I can tell you that we have a flat $10 negotiated brokerage fee with UPS, which his how we ship to Canada. Aside from shipping, this discount is already knocking off almost $70 from our stated MSRP prices on our website.

Count me in For option #1 Colby! Green pack, with medium ICU. Never can have too many packs!
Posted by Colby Brown on February 28, 2011 at 2:57 PM
You have been added Mitch.
Just so that everyone knows, I will be sending out emails to everyone that has opted to partake in this months discount with instructions for placing orders. Those will go out by March 10th and then all orders will be shipped out by March 15th (Assuming that we have the ICU you want in stock). We have a huge shipment coming in by the end of March, so either way F-Stop will be able to fill your order by March 15th or soon there after.
Maybe you can address this -- I sent an email to the main customer service listed on your site but never heard back.
What's the torso range? Or rather, since I don't see sizes listed and I'm 6'4", when do you plan on adding other sizes?
Thanks,
Mark.
Posted by Colby Brown on March 4, 2011 at 11:14 AM
Mark...sorry about the CS delay. We actually have two new CS Agents, but we are still training them, which might be why you haven't hear back just yet.
As far as the height, I am 6'3 and I took the Loka with me to Patagonia for 3.5 weeks last fall and it worked well, however I am at the edge of the spectrum for what I would recommend for height. The Loka could very easily work for you, but I would think the Tilopa B.C. or our new Satori EXP coming out in May would serve you better. The Tilopa B.C. is my new favorite pack of ours and its size fits my frame very well.
If you want more details, just give me a call, 253.236.0070 ext 320.
Put me down for a green with a medium ICU + rain cover + hydration sleeve
Thanks!

I will be sending out emails this afternoon or tomorrow for all that have opted to utilize this months group buy discount that will contain details on how to get your order placed into our system.
I will be out of town when this group buy ends, on March 15th, but if you have any questions, you can contact dave@fstopgear.com and he will happily take care of you.
Anyone still thinking about getting the pack I definitely recommend it. I have it and love it! Way better than and photo pack I've used for hiking/skiing and better than many normal daypacks I've used.

I just sent out all the emails to people that opted in for this months group buy discount so far. If you didn't receive an email or would like to take advantage of this months Group Buy Discount, email Dave@fstopgear.com (253.236.0070 ext 321) and he will be happy to take care of you.
I am heading out of town tomorrow afternoon and I will not be back until the 16th. I will be happy to help once I get back to the office, but in the mean time, utilize our head Customer Service Manager, Dave.

Thomas, it should be used as a Promo Code just before you complete the checkout process

I t looks really good. I already have two photo backpacks including a Kata that I just bought a few months ago but this looks better for the type of outing I usually do. I would like to know what the ICUs weight though. The product info only gives weight for the pack itself and I can't find anywhere that tells what the ICUs weigh. Also I don't see where the ICUs can be purchased separately. If I got a medium could I get a small or large later?
Posted by Jim Bullard on March 12, 2011 at 3:47 PM
Okay I found the page on the ICUs but it doesn't give the weight for the small and medium ones. I'm interested in a grey one with the rain cover and a medium ICU.
