Illumination
From an unnamed valley in the Uncompahgre Wilderness. Minutes after this was shot, I retreated to the false safety of my tent for one of the more frightening lightning storms I've ever endured.

Thank you to everyone who shared feedback on my previous post. You can see more of final "Illumination" portfolio here.

Awesome series! Looks like your getting a real handle on B&W.

It's a pretty amazing portfolio, Jesse, somewhat grim but beautiful and mystical take on mountain landscapes. The shot of the Crestones just blows me away!

Beautiful work, Jesse - I really like your processing on these. The angled light and deep shadows really give these images some real pop.

Very nice!! The clouds really look menacing.

I love the spotlighting on the peak. One of the best in your amazing portfolio.

This is ridiculously superb! Right time, right place, right lens, right camera, and the photographer to put it all together. Wow!

God I hate you. And I mean that in the most endearing way possible.

Who said 'ridiculously superb'?
Well, he was right. This is b&w landscape photography at it's very best. 'Nuff said.

Awesome! Defiantly some of the best b&w I've ever seen.

Spectacular Jesse...you've captured and processed a perfect moment.

Jesse, I like this quite a bit. Only critique I can give is the few white spots (snow) in the otherwise black mountain in the background. I would look at just darkening these as I found them to be a distraction from the lit peak itself.

The master strikes again. This rocks, Jesse. Dramatic, powerful, imposing. I love it.

Extremely cool! This might be my fav of the linked portfolio set.

Pretty spectacular! I have a feeling I would like to see more left and right of this peak for a panorama. I'd like to see this in person as a large print.

Another that makes me want to see it large is the first of the collection with the shadow of the mountains.
