Wanted to share this...I was having trouble uploading large files to Duraplaq using their site uploader. It worked fine for smaller files or Jpegs (which I don't like uploading..prefer Tiffs). I was getting 80-95% uploaded and it would fail. So Tim steered me towards a free FTP program (Filezilla) and helped me hook it up to their server. I just uploaded a large Tiff file in about 28 minutes with no problem. Also, Duraplaq now has an online order form you can fill out and submit! So much easier than filling it out by hand and faxing it.

Where do I find the order form on the Duraplaq site? I thought you had to order from Denver Digital Imaging or one of the other shops.

Re: Filezilla - I've been using it for a while and it works great. Never had an issue with it. Another option is yousendit.com. It works differently than an FTP service but the end result is the same. I use it all the time to upload large files to photo editors.

Bret, you have to log in and the second item in the list is "order form"...just click that and you're there. Just fill it out, hit submit, and it goes directly to Tim. The third choice "printer friendly form" is the old one you print out, fill in, and fax. Maybe you have to follow a different protocol if you drop off your prints at one of the shops. I always have Tim print up my files since I live in Hooterville and it's more cost effective. Yeah, Tim pointed out that the FTP can be used for a lot of things including the one you mentioned.

Thanks for the info, Pam. I need to call Tim as I'm going to need a whole bunch of Duraplaq mounted prints for my upcoming gallery shows.

Sure wish I could see the print you're having mounted. I'm sure it's STUNNING! :toast:

FWIW--i bet no one here could tell the difference between a 10mb jpeg at 100% or a 150mb TIF printed at same size and dpi. Id wager on it

I wouldn't take that bet, because you're right. I've tested it before.

Yeah interesting how that works, no compression on a 100% JPG, like a TIF, but the beauty of a JPG is the algorithm that makes it so damn cool
