Well, I "ponied" up for a 60D with an 18-200 all around zoom lens.. Got it on Amazon (Beach Camera). And tomorrow, I think I have a deal on a f/2.8 100mm macro.
Anybody have a problem with Beach Camera? Theirs is $100 less than around here and less about $100.oo in sales tax.
also saw same kit at Adorama w/slinger bag, 8GB SD, extra battery (don't know if Canon? Actually haven't bought the beach camera one yet (will buy something tomorrow) Adorama or Beach?

I've had a couple of small photo-related orders via Amazon that were fulfilled by Beach. Nothing to the tune of an SLR and lens, but no problems to date.

I got my 500mm f4 from Beach and it came the next day. No problem doing business with them again.

I had a problem with Beach when buying the new 70-200mm f2.8 VRII a year back. Had to complain in writing but once the right person got on the phone with me no problems. The problem I experienced is well documented in Beach Camera feedback. Never had an issue with either Adorama or B&H, therefore they get all my business, even if it costs me a few dollars more.

I've ordered a superzoom, a pocket cam, and my DSLR and lenses from Beach Camera or their affiliate BuyDig, and never had an issue. They seem to be a pretty good outfit, although they do have a slightly lower rating (in the 8's) on ResellerRatings than B&H and Adorama (in the 9's)
I bought my old D1X from Beach about 4 yrs ago, and several smaller items since then and have had no trouble at all - including with a return.

Last year I bought a Canon 70-200mm, f/4L from them with no problem. They've been in business a long time. When I lived in Maine I bought a Canon AE-1 Program from them as they were in Old Orchard Beach, ME. Somewhere along the line they migrated to NJ but kept the Beach even though they aren't near a Beach. They may try to sell you a bunch of other stuff but just keep firm on what you want and you should be fine.
I have bought a lot of camera equipment from Adorama and never had a problem. The are a reputable company. I have tried to deal with Beach, although not in several years. When I tried to buy from them they tried to switch me to inferior products from what they advertised and tried to sell me more. They may have changed. I recommend Adorama or B&H, I have ordered from both, to everyone that asks me about mail order photography equipment.
