Just thought I would stick this in for interest not for critique. I went to shoot sunset tonight on the columbia in Camas and caught this shot of two commercial jets. I'm sure its just telephoto compression. The one with the light was a small 12-18 passenger and the other was a regular passenger jet. I will put a sunset in on Sat.

Whoooaa! Scary ride... it really looks like they're right on top of each other. When I was working on my private liscense a few years ago, I was in a cessna... the tower gave me a heads up that a "HEAVY" (military C-5 Galaxy--big plane) was approaching from my left and would be passing behind me. I looked to the left and saw a couple little lights off in the distance and thanked the tower. I flew along for another 20 seconds or so and looked back to my left to see if the 'heavy' had made any progress--it looked like he was right next to me! Spread out wide, absolutely gi-normous, and headed right for me!... or so it felt. He was probably 1/2 mile away or more still but he certainly made my heart skip a beat. Point is, these pilots would have had a heart-attack if they were anywhere near as close as they look... it doesn't take as much for closterphobia to set in when you're in the sky!

Crap, that looks close. While flying back from Texas last month, our plane crossed pathes with another commercial airliner and it was amazing how close it was to us. It went right over the top of us and it seemed like it was only 1000 feet at themost

John, I was waiting for the larger plane to get to a break in the clouds when the other plane just appeared in viewfinder. I have the same plane passing by the half-moon, but at 1/2 sec. it looks like a bug with blurry wings.
