I just got home with a couple of hundred pictures from New Zealand and Australian (mostly work, but the pictures were fun) on my laptop (LR) and want to import the processed pictures to LR on my desktop. If I export a catalogue on the laptop, I get an extra folder and LR tells me that if I move the folders with the pics to the top level it won't be able to undo any processing/changes. I don't want this, but I'd rather not import just the raw files and redo quite a bit of processing. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Mark

I spent half of today wrestling with the problem and discovered that it's all about being careful about which folder you choose to receive the imported catalogue. Since I have duplicated the file naming structure on both machines, I needed to import into one level of folder higher. This made it seem like I'd get duplicate folder names on my desktop, but the computer was smarter than I am.

Glad it worked out! Sometimes I'm paralyzed to try thing like this for fear of losing everything!
