My 17-35 Tamron f/2.8. The 17-40 is no longer with me. I thought about replacing it, but had this 17-35 I got practically for free when I sold Tamron lenses at a local retailer. It's a great lens. About $150 cheaper than the L and the only differences are in durability and focusing speed. The sharpness is at least equal to the 17-40 images.
It's pretty tough to post these detailed forest scenes (this one saved on Q.L. 8). I am suffering some compression issues at 200K so I'll skip the examples here. I can email you a 100% crop from an image with this lens if you would like.

Thanks Marc.. I'm impressed with the edge sharpness at full frame... nice!
Marc,
I like it, overall...not over all, though Another month and we shold be good to hike our little hearts out.
Most "messy" stream shots are not very workable, but this one is. It's on the edge though...but I'm sure there are all sorts of hidden treasures up there. Looks like awinderful place to be.
I think many of my images are often right on the edge of showing too many elements.

This is really nice - will get nicer in a month of course, but I think you do an excellent job of finding really great simple compositions. Something I'm going to work very hard to improve this year - it's very easy to be busy here in the PNW....
One question, on a number of monitors in my house, there seems to be something red upstream ? Is that a log ? It looks like somebody kneeling by the water.
Marc,
I'll have to agree with my brother. I think a little cleaner comp with less twigs and branches would really make this sing. Since you have upped the ante on your images, we are a little tougher than usual on you. This image has great depth and the colors and the processing are right on IMHO. Any image that comes from you that is less than perfect will be nitpicked. I hope you understand .

I just love Oregon stream shots, especially yours. And the FF camera at 17 mm, it's just butter...
You're making me want a 5D more and more. And that rebate just makes it harder to resist.
