My only photo trip of the season was on Feb. 27 to The Blue Hole, a forest service "special interest area" northwest of Appleton, Arkansas in the Illinois Bayou drainage. This first shot is of the "north falls" on Hurricane Creek in Wolf Den Hollow.
This second shot is of the "south falls" in another fork of the creek, not far from the north falls.

Very nice John. I really like the transparency of the water and your perspective. I need to learn your sharpening technique. This is close to home, but I don't know how to get there. I am definitely going to find out! If you ever need someone to carry your camera bag, just let me know.
I learned my sharpening technique from an NPN article. You should be able to find it somewhere on the site. It's simple...
1. Reduce the photo to twice the final size (for example, if 720 is the final width, reduce to 1440).
2. Sharpen twice. This will result in the photo looking oversharpened.
3. Reduce to 50 percent to get the final size (720 wide)
Usually I make a duplicate layer of the image, and do my sharpening on that layer. I can then change the opacity of the layer if I want to reduce the amount of sharpening.
