This past weekend's trip to the Wave/North Coyote Buttes was a nicer due to sunny skies. I think the direct sun helped with the contrast and depth of the boneyard images, and bringing out the colors in the sandstone. Most of the time was spent on the north slopes of Sand Cove.

#2 Vertical of the racing rocks. In my race against the creeping shadows, wish I had moved the middle rock to give it separation from the other.

#6 Sandstone Veneer. Winds since last week had blown away some sand and exposed more of these layer.

#7 I liked how the rock had sand in its eddy and the slight magenta cast it took on.
As always, I welcome your critique and nits.

Ahhhh jeez, Doug....you may as well toss the others from your first attempt on that cloudy day. These are all superb! I'm so pleased you got good weather on this attempt.
You chose some mighty unique views from an area that has almost become cliched in the sameness of images.
#5 is my favorite, but only by a slight margin. Very nice work, amigo!!

I'm with John on #5. Never seen a shot of that structure before. Nice collection all around.
I really love #6. Lovely design and so much mystery to it.

#5 is nice, #7 as well, but I really like #1. I had never seen or heard of this locale, but the moment I saw #1, the name, "Racing Rocks," occurred to me. Great work, Doug.
They are all hypnotic and the first and second with the large compartmentalized rocks, remind me of ship wrecks I saw in Greece and other islands in the Mediterranean Sea during my Navy Days. All in all these deserve a large wall to all be displayed on!

I appreciate your comments and preferences.
Maybe I can sell a print of #5 for a million bucks <grin>
Great stuff, Doug. 1, 3 and 7 would be my picks, especially 1, but all are fine. The direct light really works to bring out the structures in the sandstone here. More dramatic light might be nice to, but would distract a bit from the pure geology in your comps.
