I was driving in to work this morning and noticed that washpark had a very thick layer of fog and provided for a lot of cool comps with the fog and the trees. It might not have burned off yet if anyone lives in the area. It looked like a 5 foot high carpet covering the ground. Thick enough that I could barely make out the top of someone's head walking their dog from 100 yards away.
So my question: What are conditions that could indicate fog that I could be on the lookout for the night before? Seems like a cold day after previous warm day? Is their a moisture/humidity component I should look for?

Definitely don't follow me... I think this was at least partially answered in another thread:
I was out yesterday morning too--took a ton of shots of Pikes Peak which ill post tomorrow here, emerging from the fog that i knew would be there the night before Course, I had the advantage of having high resolution computer forecast that told me how deep the fog would be and how long it would last etc, but the basic idea was 1) moisture (light snowfall the previous night) 2) clearing (often coincident wiht high pressure building over the area 3) winds condusive for the particular area (either light or upslope) 4) relatively cold air for the fog layer
But if in doubt, just follow Todd

Well, it came--just 150 miles too far south. Certainly you can drive 150 miles Jim
Incidentally, this ridiculously dry and warm March is gonna continue this week--it looks like there may be a couple Spring storms beginnning next weekend, but i aint going out on a limb just yet...
