Had cabin fever, off work four days with a screwed up wrist, so off to Dewatto and anything looked good today to shoot. I thought this turned out somewhat ok. Raining hard out, tried to pan him, but at least the feet were in somewhat good focus.

Well cliff this is different! I wish the background was in focus but other than that, I like it.
Good effort. Personally, I suck at bird in flight shots. I just can't get them in focus.
I feel like this shot falls on the wrong side of that fine line between artfully blurred and out of focus. I hope that doesn't seem too harsh, and I hope others correct me if they disagree (because I'm certainly no pro at taking or at critiquing images). I know I appreciate a little bluntness when I'm playing with that kind of thing too, so I hope you take it that way too.

I can take anything..... and thats what this is all about, getting input. I can never get them in focus either Marylynne, if i do get one, rarely, the head is usually tucked behind its body and flying away from the camera. The background is Dewatto Bay with the hard rain coming down.
A very abstract painterly quality. It would be nice to have a few points on the bird a little sharper. I don't mind how the background appears. I'd keep trying this out when the opportunity comes up and I think you'll hit something really cool.
