Nice one craig. It looks like everything came together nicely with this shot. And the water droplets are a nice touch.

Very nice composite image Craig. I like the vibrant colors against the black background. I have a question for you about your technique for making these stacked flower shots - How are you able to get so many exposures without the flower moving? Are you setting up a tent over the flower?

Hello Scott,
Thanks for commenting on the image. You are quite right about putting together stacked images and movement. I cut these flowers and shot them inside so no movement/wind to combat. I brought them inside for a couple of reasons, mostly so I could arrange them better and also have better control of the light with the speedlite dialed down to 1/128th of full power and softened more with the honeycomb filter. I could have just made the adjustment of settings outside for subdued lighting too.
The rail I use is a "stackshot" with a handheld control unit that lets you setup beginning and start points as well as settings including "settling" time between shots to eiminate any camera/tripod shake before the next shot. I'm sure shooting outdoors I would set everything to shoot the stack as quickly as possible before any wind came up. It has a battery pack for outdoor use but I haven't used it yet. I'm sure for most days, very early morning shouldn't be a problem, shooting before the winds come up... then a screen might be the answer. But naturally attempting to shoot a series while fighting even a minor breeze would prove frustrating.

Well done craig. Another beautiful flower shot. The flowers stand out well from that black background.
