Pikes Peak
Was hoping to get some shots of the peak above the fog layer Friday morning, but by the time they opened the road (only up to Glen Cove) after clearing the 4-5 inches of snow that fell overnight, the light was pretty harsh and it limited the shot selection. It was probably gusting 40-50 mph at Glen Cove and it looked much windier up above (was gusting over 100 mph the day before). So, I took some shots that i thought might work well for B&Ws--heres a short set

I hate the 80 degree weather weve been having down here lately--at least it's still Winter on Pikes Peak! Part II of my day trip tomorrow...

These are nice, Stan, and really depict the conditions well. That third one is by far my fave, but the first one rocks, too. Looking forward to part 2!

Love the clouds in the first one and the tones in the last one. I'm wishing the trees in the middle in the first one weren't so dark. Ha! Listen to Mr. Contrast about dark tones. Maybe not.

Some very interesting layering going on with #1, starting at the top left corner down to the bottom right. I like that!
Also like #3 quite a bit. I also look forward to part 2 of your trip.

Great in BW. Like the clouds in the second image.

Nice job making the best of the situation - #2 has my vote for the drama - are those clouds or spindrift?
