Well since I had to cancel my plans to shoot in Arkansas this weekend I scouted around my house for some subjects after I got home from work. I really liked this single red bloom and tried several comps positioning it against the yellow tulip blooms surrounding it. Taken 45 minutes ago, thanks for looking! I hope EVERYONE gets out and shoots this weekend!
Wayne,
I like the comp, and the exposure is great, but the exposure may be a little too balanced for my taste. The brighter BG distracts my eye from the primary subject. Softening the light with a diffuser would help, I think.
Sorry you had to cancel your trip. The Natural State will miss you.
Wayne - After looking at this several times, I think Dominic has made a good point. I really like the comp too, but the light on the left half of the tulip comes off a little hard to me.
I had plans to get out today too, but a chest cold hit me yesterday and I don't think I'll feel up to it Maybe tomorrow...
