The poor old tree sparrows are having a hard time here. From flocks of 30+ and 12 nestboxes occupied each year they have dwindled to using only 4 nestboxes. Here is one of this years singletons.

Hi Clive
I feel this image has a lot going for it,I like the perch/tree and the position in the frame and i like the detail in the feathers and all the different shades of brown however if only the bird had looked abit more your way it would have made the image complete,I feel this is one of those if only images
Hello Clive,
From your title, it is clear what you were setting out to achieve. I would just like to have seen a touch more head turn towards the camera. The detail on the wings and tail is superb. These birds are extremely pretty when you actually look at them closely.
Overall, a nice picture.
Nice image, however the pose from the bird leaves a little to be desired, the head really needs to be tilted towards you slightly, just so that it is a bit clearer, easy enough to say when viewing but I know not so easy in the field....

Yes it is a real shame these lovable LBJ's are in decline.
This is a good image showing great detail in the feathers and nice shades of brown.
Good composition and a nice pose on the bird.

Rob
