Not strictly a photo topic but just to say that I have found two pairs of Lapwing sitting on four eggs each. One has been sat since Friday. Is that early or what !!
Possibly due to the very dry March this year, the ground will be a lot warmer and drier than usual.which is good for ground nesting species

Good point Mike. In one case the nest is surrounded by puddles in the quarry floor and is used by Little Ringed Ploiver most years. All the nests interestingly are on raised mounds - unlike those in crop fields.

Its a really late spring up here this year John. Frog spawn 2 weeks later than usual, daffs only now in full bloom, and I have only just seen my first gannet go past the cottage, when I normally see them in late February!
Best wishes

Early for Lapwings I think - however the Robins in my garden fledged 2 days ago.
