Hi all, I am looking for some info on a canon 50-200L lens. I know that it is an afd motor and that it has had some excellent reviews on image quality, but was hoping someone might have some hands on experience with this lens. Thanks wade.

50-200L? I don't think there is such a lens. and I'm not familiar afd motor.
Canon makes several versions of 70-200L lenses. They have USM, ultra-sonic motors
Are you sure it's a Canon lens your trying to find out about?

hi buck, canon did make this lens, it is an older lens and afd means arc form drive. Due to a new mortgage etc etc the 70-200 just doesnt fit my budget right now. I can get this lens for a song.

OK then. I've been shooting Canon for about 7 years, so that one must be before my time. First I've heard of it.
Sorry to be no help.

Hey buck , no problem. This lens is about 20 years old. I did go ahead and buy it and I am very impressed, it is VERY sharp.
