Due to the nature of my recent work (primarily urban) I have not been very active on NPN recently. That doesn't mean I heven't been busy, just that there is no forum here for the work I'm doing at the moment. :frown:

That said, I am pleased to announce a show at a new gallery on Long Island that is the culmination of a major art promotion project. I am one of three photographers being featured at the Grand Opening ceromonies of the new C2 Gallery at the Patchogue Artspace project. I will be present in the Gallery pretty much all day and into the evening tomorrow and thought it might be a good opportunity for some of the local talent from NPN that I've traded critiques with over the years to stop by and meet face to face!

Here is the info:

Congrats, Jim - way to go!
Quite an honor!
Wish I was not at the other end of the country!

PS: since this is short notice, You might change the header to something specific like "My show in Long Island opens today.." so local people don't miss this.

Sandy,

Thanks! That title change is actually a good idea. Can I do that without reposting or do a need a moderator?

You are one of the people I would love to meet. We have exchanged many a good critique over the years. so, what's cross-country airfare cost these days...

Congrats Jim. It's fair bit of driving from White Plains on a weekday, but will your work be on display for a while? I will plan to check it out

Arnab,

Unfortunately, the price of being the first is that we were subject to the vagaries of construction schedules. In order to cover themselves, the Gallery owners set the reception for the END of the show, rather than the beginning. Good thing, too, as the actual opening was delayed two weeks by unfinished details. The benefit is excellent publicity, which is already getting me some positive feedback. The work has been up for two weeks now and will be up Saturday as well, but taken down the following Monday-Tuesday. :frown:

The Gallery has advance committments to other artists for April and, of course, these have to be honored.
