Lime Kiln Lighthouse (+repost)
I shot this about 40 minutes after sunset. Lime Kiln Lighthouse is on San Juan Island (that's Vancouver Island in the distance). I'm still trying to get the most out of the HDR feature of CS2. Comments and critiques are always appreciated.

Very dreamy and smooth! I like the touch of sunset color, so much that I wish there was more. I was curious and did a quick "screen crop" and found that croppig the foreground just above the lower rock and also taking some off of the RH side worked well IMO.

Nonetheless, this is a cool shot and well done!

Kevin,
The angle and the foamy water is superb. Nice, very nice!

Try selectively dodging the foreground rocks to better show off the interaction between shore and surf as there would be naturally. The very long exposure has caused the water to look just a little too flat IMO. Oops, I couldn't help myself from working on it. I would not do any cropping.

thanks Marc, I like your suggestions and the execution of them in your edit. I think the water does look better a little brighter. I'll go back and rework the foreground when I fix the halos around the lighthouse (hard to see on this smaller version)

I don''t think your comp needs the foreground rocks, Kevin. I like Marc's version but after looking at a screen crop some more I feel it's a way more powerful comp without them.

I agree with Mark H. A crop about 1-2 inches below the big rock on the left without any of the foreground rocks seems to be the ticket. IMHO!

thanks for the suggestions. I decided to give the crop a try. Here is a repost with a few tweaks and the crop. I think I like it better uncropped.

I'm all over it, Kevin!

I personally like them all. Which version do you like the best? Ultimately it is your choice.
