These aren't crane pics, I promise!
Okay, I lied!. I was going to wait until next year to photograph cranes, but all the great crane photos posted recently convinced me it wasn't too late this year...

#3 - I don't think I have what it takes to be a wildlife photographer, cause I got photographer's ADD and got distracted, first by a purdy sunset...

#4) then, the next day, a grass fire broke out nearby, so I figured this would be a good use for my 500mm lens...

#7) Then another nice sunset. This is 12 images stitched together for a 113 megapixel image. Larger version at:

This wasn't planned, but oddly, I shot every image with my 200-500mm lens and never changed lenses in two days.

I like all of those. Probably the firefighters the most. I know, sacrilege on the Nature forum.

I'm thinking you did juuuust fine with the crane photos. Great set, GC. I really like your composition choice for the barn pic.

Very nice! Like the light and the position of the cranes in the second image. Like the tight crop in the barn image.

Nice collection of work Grant. For the crane shots I really like #2 the best...good comp and separation on the cranes in flight. I also love the photojournalism work on the fire.

You are quite the versatile photographer, ADD or not! Love all of these and the first looks like he's jumping for joy. I love using my tele-zoom for stuff like this.

The crane images are superb!

The first crane image has some nice personality and both images are excellent. The others are cool as well, especially the barn.

Such deceipt! Great series, Grant! Hard to pick a favorite in such a diverse group. You will, of course, have to bring a print of the pano to the Shindig next year.

Like the dramatic fire image. Nice cranes in flight as well.
