It would be a good thing to have more activity in our CANP Gallery. So, to that end, here is my idea...
What do you all think of having a theme for CA images on a monthly basis?
***You all suggest the monthly theme, a list of which will be posted in another topic. For example: Theme 1--Flora; Theme 2--Waterfalls; Theme 3--Abstracts, etc.
***You will still be encouraged to post CA nature images, and/or Man & Nature images that are not applicable to a theme.
***Harley and I would choose the best image from the monthly theme. It would then be posted on a page on the CANP site and recognition of your achievement posted at CANP and in NPN Discussion.
If you are interested, please let us know via this thread. If you have suggestions for themes, post them to this thread, as well.
Once we have an idea of interest, and some suggestions for themes, we will put it together.
In addition to your Flora, waterfalls, and Abstracts, how about:
1. Birds
2. in your back yard
3. at night
4. wildflowers
5. bugs
6. Rivers
7. Ocean
8. mammals
I like the idea as well and will be making a conscious effort to be more active on the CANP forum. Here are a few more targeted theme ideas with a slightly different approach:
1. Your favorite "secret" spot (no need to divulge location, but maybe a quick reason why)
2. 10 mile radius from your house
3. Almost there-(shot that you've been trying to capture that may be close to what you envision, but not exactly where you want it...)
4. Out of comfort zone-(maybe you're primarily a wildlife photographer-let's see a grand landscape, maybe you shoot macro-lets see a sea scape, etc...)
5. Pushing the boundaries (a shot that you feel pushed you as a photographer, whether in the field, in the darkroom, etc.)
6. Unique Icon (an iconic comp or location that you have a "unique" take on...)
This is a great idea, but looking at the thread Maybe it could be dovetailed with a Monthly Theme ( a general subject ) like Wildflowers or Seascapes and a Monthly Topic a more specific category like favorite spot or National Parks and Monuments ( in California ) Month. Just throwin' and idea out there feel free to chuck it back.

Many thanks, as always,

I like the idea, but would keep the subjects generalized, as opposed to assignments. Best Regards.
